You know, I think this ending would have been slightly less of a fucking disappointment if the heroes hadn't been so unfairly favored by Horikoshi compared to the villains. I mean, seriously
Deku destroys every bone in his body multiple times throughout the story and is warned that if he continues, he'll permanently lose the use of his limbs ? Everything's fine, his body's just got used to being reduced to a bloody pulp somehow so there's no consequences for him. In fact even when he literally loses his arms to Shigaraki, he gets them back two minutes later thanks to Eri because guess what ? Her horn still works even when cut off from her body. How convenient.
Gran Torino gets his ribcage obliterated by Shigaraki ? Don't worry guys, he'll survive that despite his old age and injuries, and this to have no particular role in the plot afterwards.
Bakugo dies heroically trying to buy time before Deku arrives ? Lmao, did you really believe it ?? No of course not, Edgeshot just uses his last-minute Deus Ex Machina to save his life at the cost of his own and- Oops nope he's fine too, my bad !
Hawks murders a criminal fleeing for his life in cold-blood ? The best Hori has to offer is him completely free and in charge of the HSPC.
And no, losing his quirk isn't a real consequence for him because not only it literally played a major part in saving the world with Vestige!Hawks raising an insurrection among AFO's quirks, but also because his quirk has always been the element through which people exploited him.
Endeavor abused his family for years and completely destroyed his eldest son ? No jail time and no media backlash for that, the only blame he received was due to the heroes' failure to stop the League during the Raid Arc.
And don't even get me started on this bs about facing hell or whatever for what he's done : He's literally free and wealthy ; he have Rei, Fuyumi, Shoto, his sidekicks and Hawks on his side ; and all the difficulties he's apparently going to suffer are off-screened.
Deku had to sacrifice OFA and his future hero career to save the world ? Guess what, Bakugo invested all his time and money to make him an Iron-Man suit and now he can still be a hero with everyone else.
There are plenty more examples of this but I think you get the idea. Now let's take a look at the villains' ending :
Toya is now a piece of charcoal kept artificially alive for the few years he has left, unable to move a finger, and whose few minutes a day during which he can stay awake will be spent talking to his father who abused him as a child.
Toga, a literal teenager, killed herself to save Ochako and because she knew it's still better than rotting at Tartarus her whole life.
And not only did she die but she did by bleding to death. Let me repeat for those who have trouble grasping what I've just said : In a manga where the heroes can survive having their heart blown to bits, being impaled Kakyoin-style or smashed against buildings like a fly on a windshield, one of the main antagonists died of a fucking hemorrhage…
As for Shigaraki, after learning that his very birth and all the tragedies of his life have been orchestrated by AFO, after all this development and narrative promises about him being saved in the end... Deku just kills him.
Because despite all his speeches about saving him, it seems like the best he could do was beating him both physically and mentally until he crumbles to dust…
Compress on his side is apparently locked up for life and kept alive by machines too.
A begging Kurogiri tried in a desperate attempt to save Shigaraki, only to be unceremoniously blown up by Bakugo and dying off-screen without anyone giving a shit, including Aizawa and Mic.
And Spinner will now spend the rest of his life struggling with the extra quirks inside him that affect his body and mind, while having to cope with the thought that his boyfriend best friend and companions have either died alone or are locked away for life in horrifying circumstances.
Clearly not the same as with the heroes...
Now don't get me wrong, even if they suffered just as much from the consequences of their actions or the plot as the League, this ending would still be a disaster in terms of writing but AT LEAST it wouldn't reek that much of hypocrisy.

Day 22: Cheating
Hori x Miyamura | Nim's Lovely Tickletober
Word Count: 500
"Cheater."
"Huh? We're on the same team, I thought you'd be with me on this."
"....Cheater." She was pouting. Miyamura couldn't believe Hori was acting like this.
Yes, he just tickled Yanagi, but he and Iura were winning the minigame again and he needed to resort to some desperate measures, which included tickling Yanagi when he was close to beating Hori's ass in this round.
Since when did she care so much about winning it fairly? Gaming nights with Mario Party were bound to get intense like this.
It was only Miyamura's intention to distract him a little, but Yanagi was so ticklish he ended up knocking over his soda drink with his elbow, spilling it all over his clothes, and Iura had just stepped out with him to help him clean it.
This left Miyamura alone with his girlfriend, who was currently pouting and sulking for a mysterious reason.
"They're better at Mario Party than we are. Of course I tried to cheat," he admitted.
"No, no. You tickled him. That feels like... cheating to me."
"What do y- ah. Oh." Miyamura froze. Wait.... That kind of cheating?
"Don't tell me.... Were you... jealous?"
Hori looked at him with a cute blush. She didn't answer, but Miyamura already knew this was the truth. This was Hori Kyouko here! How did he just underestimate his most adorable girlfriend in the world?
He smirked and moved closer towards her.
"So... You were jealous of me tickling him? Is that it?" he teased. "You want me to tickle you? Only you?"
When she didn't back away as his wiggling fingers approached her, he knew he was correct. Hori merely twitched the moment Miyamura's fingers touched her sides, and she started to giggle and she leaned against him, burying her face in his shoulder.
"I can't believe you got jealous about something like that," Miyamura said, now tickling his cute girlfriend more and more. Hori nodded and continued to giggle while squirming against him.
"Mehehe neheheither," she laughed. She was so adorable. Miyamura wrapped her even tighter in his arms, trapping her completely and he continued to tickle, his fingertips now slowly sneaking under her shirt and fluttering against her bare skin.
"Don't worry. I promise I'll tickle no one but you."
"Fohohorget ihhit, I'm so ehehembarrassing," Hori giggled, but Miyamura knew how much she loved this because she wasn't even trying in the slightest to escape his tickly fingers.
"No. I'm not forgetting it." Miyamura kissed her cheek, then her ear, and her neck, tickling her there as well with his soft kisses.
"I won't cheat on my ticklish girlfriend ever, got it?" he whispered, making her squeak when he suddenly squeezed her sides. Right at that moment Yanagi and Iura came back in but they immediately twirled around.
"Hohoho wrong room!" Iura laughed as they left again.
"Ah, hey! W-we weren't -!" Miyamura called out, but suddenly he was on his back on the floor with Hori pinning him down. She was still blushing, but now she was also smirking, looking smug and confident.
"We weren't what, hmm?" she said in a flirty tone.
Then without warning, she started to tickle him back, and Miyamura cackled uncontrollably while the catchy Mario Party pause screen music continued to play as a goofy background tune to his hysterical laughter.
Well well, what an interesting turn of events at tonight's gaming night.

setting him up • m. Izumi
pairing : college au! Izumi Miyamura x best friend!reader
summary : maybe it was a dumb idea to set her best friend with the popular girl in their college
a/n : might be a bit rusty. No hate on Hori tho.
reblog and feedback are appreciated!
As Y/n began to pack her bag, ready to leave the hall, a pair of hands landed on her table stopping her. It was her.
“Y/n, you remember, right?” The girl asked to which Y/n nodded with a faint smile. How could she not? It was as if a burning knife was cutting right through her chest. “Well then! See you at 4!” the girl waved back.
×××
“Y/n! At least tell me where we’re going!” Came the giggling voice of Y/n’s best friend, Miyamura Izumi. In response, Y/n just smiled leading the two in front of a café.
Surprised, Izumi gave a confused look at Y/n. It was the same café the two usually hung out at, so why make this an ordeal was what Izumi thought but kept from saying anything. Y/n always has a reason, he trusts her. She could lead him to a different country altogether and still, Izumi wouldn’t say anything. He trusts her that well.
Entering the café, Izumi wasshocked to see Y/n leading them to an already occupied table where sat the topper of their department, the girl all the guys fawned over, the princess of the college, Hori Kyouko.
She got up from her chair, greeting the two friends. “Hello, Izumi”, she smiled, “Oh, and Y/n too.”
Y/n greeted back but Izumi kept quiet. It wasn’t that he hated Hori or anything, but for some reason, she seemed too sweet. Maybe it was all his imagination. So with a nod, they all took their seats.
A waiter had taken their order for the evening and the three still sat, with almost no conversation. The awkward silence was broken by Y/n who cleared her throat and started. “Miyamura, let's get to the point, I don’t want to beat around the bush. Hori has something to tell you.”
Izumi quirked an eyebrow at Hori in anticipation. Hori seemed to blush at the revelation, sitting more potently in the wooden chair more poisely. “Uh…Miyamura-kun, I think I like you. I was so scared to tell you this more privately that’s why I asked Y/n to help, as you two are close. Maybe we can be…?” Hori didn’t continue further hoping Izumi would catch on.
What was to her horror when Izumi with an irritated look on his face got up from his seat. “Sorry. I don’t think we can be a thing. I already have someone.” As soon as the words left his mouth, he stormed out the café door.
Y/n too left her seat and bowed apologetically to Hori. “I’m so sorry, Hori! I didn’t know he had a lover.” In a hurry, she ran after Izumi who was about to cross the road.
“Izumi! What are you doing?” She screamed at her best friend making him stop in his tracks and turn around.
“What am I doing, Y/n? That was such a pathetic plan of setting me up!” Izumi was angry too. Y/n walked up to him, slapping him right across his face.
“Pathetic, huh, Izumi? I was trying to set you up for life, man! If you hadn’t acted like such an idiot, you would have had the college princess all to yourself. She’s so in love with you Izumi. You could’ve called her your person—” Izumi cut her off, pulling her by the waist and kissing her silent.
Y/n was too shocked to respond and instead, melted right in his hold. Pulling away, Izumi held her face, his eyes glossed over. “Y/n are you too dumb to tell who is in love with whom? Can you not tell I’m dying for your love? Why should I call her my person, when I have you right here?” the tears now falling freely without restrain.
The girl in his hold mirrored his action, her tears falling into his palm. “Why, Izumi, why? I'm not deserving of your love! I had hoped that if I buried my feelings, maybe it would be easier for the two of us, and you just had to go on saying something stupid like ‘I love you’?”
Izumi kissed the top of her head, pulling her into his chest, “No, Y/n it's not stupid. It is true. I’m in love with you. So much so that I can’t even look at anyone else to think of as my beloved. You’re the only one in this world for me. Both as my best friend and my soulmate…”
Izumi held her face and kissed her gently this time, savoring the moment. “Let us try, okay, Y/n?” he spoke gently caressing her face. “Maybe we can be together. We won't know if we don’t try. And the worst that can happen is we won't work out, which I highly doubt, we could still be friends yeah?” He leaned down whispering in her ear, “You can slap me as many times as you want if we do work out.”
Y/n smiled, punching his chest playfully. This was not how she had hoped the day would end but she was still grateful that this was indeed the way the day ended. They could talk with Hori later. The world was now in her hand and she didn’t intend to lose her hold on it.

The Great BNHA Review: The Finale
So in the end... where does this leave us?
A society that really hasn't changed that much, Izuku was alone once again because his hero friends are too busy, and it ends with Izuku being handed a suit to fight alongside them... Reinforcing the fact that Izuku couldn't be a hero on his own without someone handing him something to make him a hero.
What a lackluster and rather bleak ending when you think about it. Because they still have the ranking system so it's once again enticing heroes to compete in a popularity contest to be known, which is why Bakugou is doing poorly and Aizawa admitting that he didn't do shit to curve this behavior.
(Points at Aizawa) Teacher of the Year everyone 🙄
So with the story now completed, what I hope to eventually happen in a few years is for people to truly see the series for what it is. A poorly written story where the main character never grows, the worst anime character hogging all the attention away from things that should be important, and contains harmful messages for preteens-teens if we were to take this at face value.
So let me ask this: Was this story worth telling?
I'm only asking because since it's known that Hori just got tired and wanted to be done and over BNHA as soon as he could. Which I know WOULDN'T have happened if he just pulled a Yana Toboso and just put the manga on hold to truly figure out what he wants to do instead of working on it continuously with only a handful of one week breaks.
His story couldn't explore the themes it established, and what it DID covered, was handled poorly.
And if you want a piece of media that explores what BNHA tried to do, here're some of my recommendations .
The main character being the odd one out? The Owl House.
Family Issues? Gravity Falls.
Discussions on justice and the grey area of good and evil? Death Note.
Hell, Glitch Productions does a better job at developing the romances of their characters than this anime series did in it's entirety!
And trauma being handled in a tasteful manner?
youtube
But back to the topic!
The thing is why couldn't we explore these themes and topics that was promised to us? Was anyone REALLY asking for Endeavor to make amends with his family? Did anyone RELLY think that Endeavor's redemption was worth screwing over the Todoroki family members?
This series just wants to have it's cake and eat it too! We want to have cool fight scenes and root for the heroes to win, but we would also want to explore the world they live in and how it functions. And since considering the badly handled topics of the story and the characters themselves are as interesting as caricatures of the tropes they embody to where there's no depth or complexity.
Then you just have a story that GOES NOWHERE!
How much of Hero Society has really changed at the end? It only beckons for the same events that happened throughout the series to happen again! And the people who were horrible, I.E Bakugou and Endeavor, get they want without consequences! None of the major characters go through significant development so it makes it hard to see that they've grown at the end!
So overall, BNHA is an Anime Series that crashed and burned. Something that I hope more people will start to recognize and call it out for both the mistakes of the series and Kohei Horikoshi.
And with that, my career of criticizing BNHA has come to an end. Thank you all for liking my rants and posts, and I truly do hope you'll keep following me for whatever's in store.
So now that's done, I can finally move on to something actually good...

a/n : UM BAD HAIRCUT and I told my guy best friend abt how I want my hair short but the lady who cut... it's still long 😭 and he said he likes girls with long hair. BOY SHUT UPP (the urge to cut it shorter teehee)
[ i. shu x gn reader ]
____________________________________________
" it's not that bad, " hori says on the call as you cry internally.
you've just got home from the salon, despite how the words in your head screams, ` its okay, its hair, they'll grow! ' you can't shake the thoughts and feelings of ugly. you sigh and reluctantly bid goodbye to hori. you should stop your worries and face it tomorrow.
you grab a hoodie and put your blazer over. this outfit should be fine, you see iura shu wear it and he seems fine or so you thought. walking over to your friend group with hori and the gang, they stared. you looked different, you had the hoodie of the jacket you were wearing over your head.
" um... why are you all staring? stop, it's gross. " you pinch the bridge of your nose in a joking manner as the response you got was nothing but silence.
" yo! " iura greets as he slams the door of your classroom open, making everyone jolt and turn to the source of the sound.
" oh! what's with the emo vibes? you're wearing a hoodie too~ are you trying to match with me? " iura says as he reach over to your hoodie, about to pull it down but you're quick to pull your hood over forward as he tugs it backwards.
" hey, hands off! " you try to shake him off but to no avail, he's teasingly pulling the hood as you try your hardest to hold it.
" dude, knock it off already! " ishikawa jumps in to save you by pulling iura away. you were safe for now.
" yeah what's with the sudden hood up thing? " yoshikawa starts as she had her long sleeved hand over her mouth.
" well... " you look over at hori, hoping she'll save you as she looks down and away from your gaze.
suddenly, a tug from behind was all you felt as the hood drops. iura had pull your hood down. they continue to stare as you quickly covered your face in embarrassment.
" don't look! " you shout.
" you're cute, " iura said as you slowly put your hands down, everyone looking at him.
" I mean it. you're cute with your hair short. " he says once more as he grab a piece of your hair.
" he's right, you're cute. " miyamura says as he cover his mouth and quickly look over at hori. she had a smile on her face.
" our adorable y/n l/n! " she whispers shout as she jumped and hugged you. your confidence slowly building.
" yeah you're adorable! we should get matching hair clips~ " yoshikawa joins as she gives you a hug too.
they all turn and wait for ishikawa response. he mumbles a soft, " you should cut your hair short more often. you're cute haha. "
" come on guys, I said it first. give me some credit! " iura sang as they all glared at him but you laugh. he's right.
" thank you. especially you, iura. " you sent him a smile as he shoots you one back.

hori constantly acts as if he isn’t the writer and has full control of the story and it pisses me off to no end. gonna drop some examples below. these are from the street wear profiles from the manga.
sen kaibara - “I love his Quirk, so I can’t wait to portray it more.” he’s acting like something/someone is actively holding him back from doing so.
tetsutetsu tetsutetsu - “I hope I get to show him in action more.” once again, acting like something is stopping him. side note, why tf did he give him that name. it’s just so lazy. and it’s not even funny. just annoying to say and annoying to write.
hanta sero - “He’s mostly just for one liners in the background, but he’s a good guy, and I’d like to feature him more. At some point. For sure.” and then proceeds to never do that.
this might just be me being bitter abt all the amazing characters he’s completely disregarded and disrespected. this might just be me not understanding what it’s like being a mangaka. but it still bothers me.
i just hate how he’s created this insanely interesting world and amazing characters and never expands on anything bc he’s too busy sucking bakugos dick.
speaking of bakugo, as someone who has narcissistic tendencies, he’s a textbook case.
he obviously has some sort of inferiority/superiority complex and a mild to severe case of a god complex. at best he’s dismissive of people who he sees as inferior to him, at worst he’s downright cruel.
his “nicknames” are all just fucking insults aimed at peoples insecurities.
raccoon eyes/horns: mina was probably bullied for her appearance and then her so called “friend” exclusively calls her names that poke fun at her appearance.
bird brain/bird face/other bird names: tokoyami has probably heard it all at this point but once again bakugo making fun of heteromorphs.
dunce face: denki has shown to be insecure about his intelligence and once again his so called “friend” mocks him for it.
tentacles/arms/octopus: again, mocking heteromorphs.
tail: i’m beginning to see a pattern here.
ears: ok how has no one pointed out how most of his nicknames are him basically just calling them slurs.
i don’t think bakugo has ever called someone their actual name. maybe a handful of times? but it’s like a massive event when he calls someone by their actual name.
exclusive calling people insults isn’t exactly heroic.
anyway rant over i just needed to get all this shit off my chest.
Hi @the-jello-bowl 👋,
There could be something to be said here about how the editors may have had a hand in Hori not exploring all the characters he may have wanted to.
But, even if that is the case, not all of the blame would rest on them.
Hori clearly did not plan ahead for a lot of MHA. He is very good at coming up with good character designs and concepts as well as bringing life to them but seems to be at a loss after that is done. The cast bloating is key evidence of this.
It is sad to see all these interesting characters be swept to the wayside in favour of Bakugou, who by contrast brings nothing of interest to the table.
Bakugou is a narcissistic abuser in my opinion. He uses cruel nicknames, not as lighthearted jibes, but to bring others down - especially his friends.
Other than the instances you mentioned, I want to bring attention to one that belongs to Bakugou's supposed best friend, Kirishima, who he calls only "shitty hair." We learn in his backstory that Kirishima changed his hair to be like his idols as a symbol of his growth prior to U.A. Therefore, being continually called "shitty hair" would hurt Kirishima deeply. He also tells Bakugou to stop, and yet Bakugou does not care.
The time I can think of when Bakugou called someone their actual name is that time he used "Izuku" instead of the usual "Deku" slur. And even that is bad because instead of asking for the right to call Izuku by his first name, usually reserved for close family, Bakugou just does it.
Typical narcissistic, entitled and stagnant Bakugou. We hate to see it.
I wish Hori didn't waste so many manga panels on this idiot.

04 | miyamura x reader
synopsis | hori talks to miyamura and realizes where she stands. you can’t help but feel guilty because of a promise made long ago.
word count | 2k+
note | i don’t plan on making hori ‘the bad guy’ or have her bully the reader. yes she will be a little upset because miyamura doesn’t like her back but she won’t do anything to the reader. that trope (or wtv it’s called) is way too overused and i don’t like it 🧍♀️also i hate this chapter and i can’t wait to finish this series so i can rewrite and edit everything
previous | mlist | next
A week has passed since the first day of school and things are going smoother than you had initially expected.
Miyamura’s friends had adopted you into their group, though you felt closer to him than to anyone else. Even though they always included you, it felt as if there was a barrier between you and them. During lunch or group projects their conversations would flow naturally, so you’d never say a word unless someone spoke to you first, afraid that you’d make the conversation awkward. Usually it was Miyamura or Tooru who brought you into conversations.
It was to be expected though, it’s the last year of high school; friend groups had already been made and joining any would be a struggle. You were thankful for an easy way into a friend group and were prepared to face all the challenges thrown your way.
Things at home were going well too. You could definitely tell your grandma was happy to have company around the house and you were happy to be with her. You were especially happy about her cooking. Your parents never had time to cook or show you how to so you just stuck with eating out everyday. You also bought some decorations for your new room, which made you feel more comfortable.
As you slipped your shoes on you waved to your grandma goodbye and she reciprocated the action. “Have a good day at school dear.” She smiled.
You thanked her and stepped out of your home. Walking to and from school everyday has made you become familiar with the neighborhood. The first couple of times you almost got lost, but luckily you would find other students with the same uniform and you’d just follow them to school.
As soon as the school came into view your stomach growled. Shit.. I forgot to grab something for breakfast.. you patted your pocket and felt your wallet. Sighing in relief you pull it out and open it, seeing you had enough money to buy something.
Instead of walking straight into the school you take a turn for the school’s cafeteria, praying they were open. As you walked you enjoyed the school’s scenery. Despite being here for a week you haven’t gotten a chance to explore everywhere. Tooru only showed you your classroom and the school cafeteria.
As the doors to the cafeteria came up you let out a sigh of relief upon seeing an oval sign hanging from the door with big letters that read ‘open’. You pulled the door open and walked in, feeling cold air hit your cheeks.
The first thing you see is a familiar brown haired girl wearing a gray sweater with her back turned to you; it seemed like she didn’t hear you come in. You didn’t see anyone at the counter, but a vending machine was nearby. Browsing through the limited options you insert your money and press the buttons. Your snack falls and you fish it out from the bottom and slowly walk over to the girl.
“Hori?”
The girl turned to look at you and your suspicions were confirmed. Hori looks at you with mild surprise. “Oh! I didn’t expect to see you here so early.” She motions for you to sit in front of her and you do.
“Hey Hori! And yea, I keep forgetting to change my clock’s batteries so I wake up thinking I’m late but it’s actually super early. I can’t go back to sleep so might as well just head to school.”
Hori nods in understanding and takes a sip of her drink. She is sorta forgetful.. Hori notes.
An awkward silence calls upon the two of you. She awkwardly continues to drink her beverage while you eat your snack. Although you and Hori were part of the same group you never directly interacted with each other.
“So.. you and Miyamura know each other?”
“Mm?” You looked at her confused.
“Even though you just got here, you and Miyamura seem really close. Did you go to the same middle school?” She asks.
You notice how she avoids eye contact and slightly tightens her grip on her drink. Is she jealous?.. You ask yourself. That would explain her odd behavior around you.
“Not really. I ran into him the first day I moved here and he’s my neighbor, so I guess—”
“Wait! You guys are neighbors?” She slammed her drink down in surprise and you slightly jumped, startled by her random outburst.
“Yea? He lives in the apartment complex next to my grandma’s house.”
She hums and brings her drink back up to her lips, continuing to avoid eye contact. Shit, are they together? Does she think I’m trying to get in between them?.. You begin to slightly panic. You didn’t want to start any drama, you had barely been at this school for a week! Miyamura never mentioned anything about being in a relationship, at least nothing you can remember, and you never saw him acting lovey dovey with Hori.
“I’m sorry, are you and Miyamura in a relationship?” You ask timidly.
“What? No.. why are you asking?” She eyed you suspiciously.
“Ah, I just didn’t want you to think I was trying to take him from you. We only seem close because he was the first person I talked to, so I guess I just feel closer to him because of that.”
“Ah, I see.”
After that conversation the air seemed a little lighter. Hori no longer seemed as tense as she was before, but instead lost in thought. The two of you sat in a calm silence until the bell rang.
Hori stared at the sky while leaning on the balcony railing outside the classroom. Her thoughts take her back earlier to the conversation she had with you. Although you told her you didn’t know Miyamura that well, she felt there was something going on between the two of you, whether or not you were aware of it. She had questions, but she wasn’t sure you were the right person to ask. The door opened behind her, but she didn’t turn to look, already knowing who joined her outside.
“Are you feeling okay Hori?” Miyamura asked, walking up beside her.
He had noticed she seemed lost in thought all day, something had to be bugging her. He knew about her busy life outside of school, but normally she wouldn’t be this out of it.
“Do you like (Y/n)?”
Miyamura nearly choked on his spit at the sudden question, quickly turning to look at Hori. “Where did this come from?”
“I just feel like.. there’s something going on between the two of you.”
“Nothing is going on between us. It’s just that.. they’re someone that I used to know, someone I cared a lot for.”
Hori turns to look at him, slightly surprised. Although she suspected it she never thought he’d say it out loud. Hearing it made it feel real, like there was really a chance she’d lose him.
“It’s a long story, but.. when I was little, (Y/n) was the first person to walk up to me and become my friend. Then one day they told me their family was moving, but they made a promise to find me again. I doubt they remember me or the promise, but the fact they came back.. it feels nice.”
The look on Miyamura’s face was something she rarely saw. He seemed genuinely happy, hopeful even. The only time she saw him this happy was when they were together, alone. Now he has the exact same expression while talking about you and you’re not even here.
Hori turned away. “Why don’t you tell them?” She doesn’t know why she asked. Maybe she was curious, or maybe she still had hope he was moving on from you.
Miyamura shook his head, “I don’t want to pressure them into anything. If something happens, I want it to happen naturally and not just because they feel the need to fulfill a promise they made years ago.”
He turned to look over his shoulder, spotting you and Tooru laughing about something. Hori followed his stare and tried not to show how disappointed she was. She wasn’t disappointed at either of you, moreso the situation. You two had history, history that left such an impact on Miyamura he waited for years for a chance to see you again.
She could never compete with that.
“Alright, you have to finish the report as a group by the end of class, so start moving!”
Shit! Group work this early in the year? You quickly look around the room to see everyone partnering up with their friends. How well do I know Miyamura’s friends? Would it be weird if I just joined their group? They wouldn’t mind.. right?
A gentle tap on the shoulder broke you out of your thoughts. Turning to your left you see Miyamura smiling at you. “Can I be in your group?” He asks while holding back a laugh, though you don’t understand what’s so funny.
“Sure.” You smile.
The smile on Miyamura’s face remains as he brings his desk up to yours and soon the rest follow without any questions.
“Lend me a pen, Yoshikawa! You don’t need so many pens.”
“Don’t you dare take any of my pens!”
“Did anyone bring the material collections?” Hori asked, sighing when she noticed no one had them.
You watched the group work together while occasionally bickering about random things. Hori assigned everyone a part of the report while also keeping Yoshikawa and Tooru from fighting about pens.
While working you couldn’t help but bask in the atmosphere the group brought. It wasn’t suffocating and there wasn’t a need to keep the conversation going. The conversations they had were short and sweet and didn’t have you overthinking with what to respond with. You let go of your thoughts and let yourself get carried away in the light conversations, enjoying the laughter of the group.
After everything was complete Hori gathered everyone’s part of the report and stapled it together before handing it to the teacher. The five of you relaxed together, mindlessly talking about the newest trends and any new music.
You barely said a word, happy with just watching the group enjoy each other. As you watched the group laugh cheerfully you didn’t notice Miyamura had his eyes on you the whole time.
The end of the day came sooner than you expected.
The group assignment left you feeling a little more connected to the group. Your fears were proven untrue, the group had wordlessly included you in the group project and no conversations turned awkward after you spoke.
By the time you left school the sky was beginning to turn a slight orange. Miyamura walked by your side as the two of you walked towards his bakery, something he had begun to do occasionally after school. Oftentimes it was when he promised to bake you something.
You stare out the window of the bakery, watching as a group of middle schoolers walk past, laughing with each other. You’re lost in thought, not noticing Miyamura had taken a seat in front of you.
“What’s up?”
“What?” You turn away from the window to see Miyamura has his full attention on you.
“You look like you have something on your mind. Did something happen earlier?” He asks.
“Oh, no not really. It’s just that..” You hesitate, trying to figure out how to formulate your words.
Miyamura says nothing, waiting for you to collect yourself. The whole time his eyes are on you, a gentle smile on his lips. You can’t help but feel at ease around him.
“When I was little, there was this boy. I heard from other kids that he was a loner, so I befriended him. Not long after though I had to move and leave him behind. Every time I hang out with you guys I feel guilty, like I don’t deserve to be happy after I left him alone, you know?” You stare down at the table and fiddle with your fingers. You know Miyamura would disagree with you, but you were still scared.
Miyamura hums, processing what you just said. Part of him was happy, you remembered him! Well, you partially remembered him. If you truly remembered him you would’ve known he was that boy you befriended. Had he really changed so much to the point you didn’t recognize him?
The other part of him felt guilty. He didn’t want you to feel bad for leaving him behind, it wasn’t your fault. The past is in the past and you’re here now in the present with him. You found your way back to him and that’s all that matters.
“I don’t think he’d mind.”
You stop fidgeting with your fingers and look up at him. His eyes are still on you, unwavering. You knew he was right, but hearing him actually say it made you feel better.
“I’m sure he would’ve wanted you to make friends, and I’m sure that by now he’s found his own group of friends, so don’t feel guilty.”
His smile was contagious. You turned to look out the window and see the group of middle schoolers was long gone.
“Yea, I guess you’re right.”
thank you for reading till the end! :D

Top Ten Hawks Moments of 2023
For Keigo's Birthday and for the end of this year, I have decided to make my top ten Hawks moments for all the chapters published this year.
10. "Hawks" gets torn into shreds by AFO
we had a lot of near-deaths for Hawks this year, but I think this was the most memorable as it happened, giving a very needed burst of humor to the AFO vs Hawks and the Heroes fight. Tokoyami's reaction was particularity heartbreaking.
9. Whatever Level of Gay was Achieved Here
This entire chapter was framed in a way that constantly put Hawks and AFO contrasting and melding and there are panels where their thoughts connect. I thought it was a very good way for Hori to make their dynamic fighting each other stand out. Also, the fight was ridiculously homoerotic.
8. Hawks Reminds Us It's About Connections, Stupid.
A theme for the post-Jaku part of this manga has always been heroes needing to bridge that gap and see if they can connect with the villains. It's interesting that Hawks has been the canon mouthpiece among the adults for that view when he so utterly failed his own narrative-assigned connection. I know there was so much pushback in this moment because Keigo again thought of Endeavor, but it stood out to me in repeating this allegory of OFA linking everyone as the solution to the conflict in the first place.
7. Realizing They All Have the Power to Make Their Own Narrative
Against a villain like One For All who wants to believe he's in his own light-novel, Keigo's own issues distinguishing reality and fantasies managed to settle down. He's always resigned himself to being a caged bird and a martyr, so being pitted against a villain so into life being a foregone conclusion helped Keigo remember they all have more agency than they give them credit for.
6. I think all of Keigo's Rizz was in Fierce Wings
Seriously, this is his normal fake hero persona on STEROIDS? It's fascinating how naturally this stuff comes to him. Like damn, he even has his tongue out, mocking All For One as he gets hoisted by his own petard, and has an arm around a vestige lady who looks suspiciously like All For One's mom, which I am accepting as canon until told otherwise. Say what you want about Hawks, for all his failures and paradoxes, the dude has serious BDE. I'd rate this higher but he had a lot of good moments.
5. Nothing beside remains, round the decay
Probably one of the most striking panels this year, seeing a defeated, quirkless Keigo struggle to get up and meet the horde of encroaching Toga-Twice clones, holding the last remaining feather in a landscape of complete destruction made me think heavily of the Ozymandias poem. Keigo, who has always represented the hero system with his whole diamond-insignia carrying chest, seeing all the consequences of his actions and the futility of his actions in stopping the very future he'd allowed himself to commit murder to prevent. I wonder if it struck him how little it all meant as he faced his "presumed" doom.
4. Farewell, Fierce Wings!
we bid goodbye to the quirk that continued to fight even as it was stolen into the eldritchian amalgamation that is All For One! The look in the vestige's face is so resigned and bitter-sweet as he decays away. Keigo isn't his quirk, but it's remarkable how willing to face death both of them are.
3. What he really wants
The interesting thing is the narration implies that either Keigo was telling Naomasa that the aging made AFO stronger as the battle happened, or still had enough control over his emotional state after being left in the dirt to tell him what he observed. The latter is, well, not that surprising when it comes to Keigo, who won't let being quirkless or maimed or delimbed get in the way of being at his job, but that's not what Hori shows us.
No, Hori doesn't show us Keigo standing up or sitting up, no he shows us a Keigo clinging to Tokoyami, a complete break in the many masks he wears to show actual devastation and need for comfort.
There's no Keigo pretending he's okay. There's just one panel showing us a young man embracing his unconscious student after probably one of the most horrific experiences in his life. Keigo, who has been mentioned to be a person who puts so much distance himself and other people, is the one the one clinging to Fumikage.
2. He really was, wasn't he?
As the Twice clones disappear, we see a melting Toga-Twice on the brink of killing Keigo, who makes no move to stop her as she slices him open. No, he seems almost penitent as he accepts death, only pausing to tell her he knows why she's killing him. Make no mistake, the moment he saw Twice back, he knew what this was all about; killing Jin. In this moment, he doesn't hold himself back with saying killing Jin was necessary - the future Jin's murder was meant to prevent came about anyway, no, this is just Keigo being honest that he really liked Jin, anyway. This panel might show the first real regret we've gotten from him, which is likely why he was so open about not fighting back. Because Keigo knows that he does "deserve" this.
1. Haven’t you already done your best, Hawks?
Chapter 185, this panel introduces us to Hawks.
Two hundred chapters later and we finally see Hawks, for all intents and purposes, resoundingly defeated. His quirk is gone. The army he had as back up, defeated. His student lying defenseless beside him. His hero-partner having left to fight his own battles.
And yet, despite it all, despite losing his quirk, despite every sign of failure around him, especially as he now has to reckon with his own moral event horizon, Keigo's capable of saying one thing:

have you seen the new valentine episode for horimiya?? can you write a one shot where the reader gives iura chocolate 🥹 he deserves it!!!
I TRY MY BEST TO DO REQUESTS OLDEST TO NEWEST BUT I JUST WATCHED THIS EPISODE AND I JUST AH MY BOY DESERVES IT
✧Cw: Fluffy fluff, slight implied fem reader (no prns specified though)
✧ Confession, Reader is also a third year, reader and Iura are friends and in the same class
"it's that time of year. Store shelves are gonna be packed with valentine's stuff everywhere." Toru speaks up. "I feel ya man. But... you're one of those guys who are gonna be swimming in chocolate treats so maybe I don't feel ya." Iura sulks, resting his head in his hand. You glance over at him as you nibble at a pastry you'd bought from the cafeteria earlier.
"you already said you did, no take backs." Toru says. "So, any plans for the lovey dovey day?" Iura asks Toru. "Uhm, Practice tying a tie? Yeah." Toru says. "Is that what Miyamura's teaching you now?" Iura questions as you both watched Miyamura attempt to tie Torus tie.
"he said he wanted to practice too." Toru replied. "Tada!" Miyamura said as he finished. Looking at it, it was a mess. Maybe the worst tie you'd ever seen. After a short pause Miyamura spoke up. "It's not appealing at all." "Uh, yeah you think?" Toru remarked. "Damn dude it's impressive how bad that is." You spoke in-between bites. "What is this monstrosity? Uh, it's freaking tight dude! I can't untie your stupid note!" Toru yelled.
Hearing the door crack open, You and Iura peaked around to see sawada peaking in. "Oh hey! Sawada just showed up guys!" Iura loudly announced. "I'm guessing you can for Miyamura." Iura continued as you finished your pastry. "No." Sawada said quietly. As soon as Miyamura greeted her she as usual ran behind him.
"I'm actually here for you Iura." Sawada said. "Me? Really? What's up dudette?" Iura questioned. "Uhm, do you like chocolate? Or no?"
Everyone in the room stood quietly in shock for a few seconds. You looked over at Iura as he looked shocked and shook lightly. "Y-Yes. I like chocolate." He said shyly. "Do you have a favorite?" Sawada asked as you stared in shock still. "No not at all! I love them all! I like bitter or sweet and I have no known allergies, kay!" Iura said with a big smile on his face. You stared at him as you could feel your face getting sweaty.
"So yup! Any kinda chocolate works!" Iura then said. "Got it. Thanks Iura." Sawada said. You could see Iura looking back and forth before reiterateing by yelling; "Any kind at all!"
"You wanna spend time and cash on chocolate for Shuu?" Toru asked. "Wait!" Sawada said surprised. "Shocked anyone besides Hori is on your list." Miyamura said. You nodded as well. "Kinda surprising.."
"Shut your mouths right now before you discourage her you killjoys!" Iura yelled. "Hey if you wanna make me sweets that's your prerogative okay?" Iura says with a hand behind his head. "Ugh- what kind of warped delusion are you living in to think I'd make sweets for you?" Sawada says with a grossed out look on her face. Iura stands there shell shocked. "I'm going back to class, where things make sense." She says as you four watch her leave. Iura stands there shocked still.
"Huh.. What!? She's the one who's not making sense, y'know?! Huh?!" Iura yells in a phrensy. You sigh a bit. Although you felt bad, it was revealing that Sawada wasn't going to give Iura any sweets.
✧
After a while, Iura heads out for the day. You stand slightly awkwardly looking at your feet. "So, bet that was pretty awkward for ya?" Toru teases you as he slaps your shoulder. "Considering you were planning on giving Shu something?" "Toru!" You yelled as you punched his shoulder. "Ah you like Iura, Y/n?" Miyamura asked. "It's pretty obvious." Toru speaks up as you continue hitting him.
You sigh as you finally stop, looking towards the ground as you whip your bag over your shoulder. "I've liked Shuu for awhile now. He's my best friend though. So this I guess will be the test or whatever? Ugh. Why am I even talking to you two about this?" You turn twords the two with a frown. "I need someone like Hori or Yoshikawa." "Harsh." Toru and Miyamura sulk slightly.
"Well, whatever you get him I'm sure he'll go crazy. He's my friend, but he's pretty lonely." Toru says as Miyamura nods. "Thanks for nothing." You sigh as you open the class door. "I'm out, see you tomorrow." "Cya." Toru waves as you close the class door.
Valentine's day is so far away, yet so soon. You were pretty nervous, but still. This was something that had to happen. It is third year after all.
_
The day was here. You'd stayed up late into the night out of fear, but it was finally time. The entire walk to school you were a mess as you shook with nervousness and fear. You inhaled as you looked around the corner to see Iura laughing with a classmate. As you backed away a little, you felt a shove. You looked behind you to see Yoshikawa shoving you with a grin. You hid the gift behind your back before speaking up.
"U-Uhm Shuu?" You mumbled loud enough for him to hear as your blush grew. "Oh, hey what's up N/n?" Iura paused as he saw the blush painting for face. When he saw your hand behind your back his face suddenly also exploded in red.
You stuttered for a second as you took your hands out shakily, revealing a small box wrapped with a yellow and pink pattern and a cd that had a small yellow bow on it. "Happy.. Valentine's day." You said as you held them out towards him. He yelled as he shook his head causing you to jump lightly. He grabbed them from you quickly with stars in his eyes. "Wow really for me?!" He yelled. You nodded as you cracked a smile at him.
"The CD has some new songs I thought you'd like.. I'm not sure if you've listened to them though." You awkwardly laughed. Shuu nodded as he placed the CD under the box and opened it up. There were various different kinds of chocolates all placed neatly in a row. Shuu could feel his face get hotter.
"I made the fillings myself. There's only 3 of them though." You laughed. "Oh! And here," you said digging through your bag pulling out a pink paper bag. "For your sister and you to share.. I made too many for just you." You blushed more.
"Y/n.." Iura looked shell shocked as he just stared at you. He then laughed as he pulled you into a hug. "You're just the person I wanted to receive chocolates from y'know!!" He yelled. You gasped as you felt him slightly rock you back and forth. He backed up a bit, popping a chocolate in his mouth. "Mhm matcha.." he gapped as he spoke with his mouth full. You chuckled as you could feel yourself get nervous again. "so.. Do you.. Uhm." You stopped as you could feel more eyes on you. Suddenly you remembered you were in the hallways. You looked around in embarrassment as you stuck your face in your hands. "I should have chosen a calmer spot!" You yelled, startling Iura.
He then laughed as he closed the box and hugged you again. You slowly took your hands out of you face as you looked up at his face. His goofy grin was replaced with this serious smile, one you'd only really seen at his house.
"I like you too." He said softly. You gasped as you tensed a bit. You then relaxed into the hug as you hugged him back. "Good. Cause those chocolates were hard." You joked.

Too good to be true
The main evil has been defeated. All For One no longer threatens the world, the members of the League of Villains are either dead or imprisoned. After the war, people's lives returned to normal. and despite the fact that One For All is close to extinction, Izuku was allowed to continue his studies and subsequent becoming a hero. Studying at UA, in the company of friends-classmates with whom he passed such a difficult and grandiose test, seems to him a dream that has become a reality. But sometimes it seems to Izuku that there is something wrong with all this...
Somewhere, in an unknown laboratory, among the capsules inside which there are various monsters that at any moment can rise up and crush armies on the orders of the owner, there is a tall man with lush, curly ash-colored hair and white eyes without pupils that were hidden by these hairNow he is looking at a 16-year-old boy in one of them. He had just finished his daily dream manipulation routine. Looking at the face of the serenely sleeping youth, he recalled how everything had come to the current situation:
After the explosion in the mansion in the middle of the forest, the young man went on a single AFO search to protect his loved ones. In the battle with the Dictator, Izuku was in a state of severe exhaustion. As soon as the Young hero lost consciousness in the captivity of the unfortunate hands that were taken under the control of the criminal. Observing everything through the search, AFO directed Nomu to take the boy to a place where he can safely hold him and where no one will think of looking for him. And just in time, right before Nomu entered the portal with the boy in his arms, which would take them to their destination, the boy's friends appeared, but they could not change anything, Izuku found himself in the hands of the villain whom he was chasing and who was also his father.
All For One, it was important to get his son out of the game, he couldn't let Izuku get hurt or killed. He will not allow a repeat of Yoichi's fate. And here he is, safe, hidden from all the worries of the outside world. Villain had to tinker with boy's dreams so that he would not try to wake up from the coma into which he had to be immersed so that what was happening in his dream seemed real to Izuku. The path that his son chose was thorny, AFO hoped that after the boy received his message, he would come to his senses and stop taking such risks, but this did not happen and the father had to take everything into his own hands.
Hi everybody. And so I surfaced again from the pool of silence with a short drabble and art on the topic of DFO theory. I am still dissatisfied with the development of the manga and I am 90% sure that the theory will not come true. But still those 10% hope that the theory will be true and there will be a continuation of the manga like Naruto Shippuden. I wanna hope that this old tweet from one of Hori's assistants turns out to be true:

I think Hori was kind of a genius when he came up witgh "Kacchan" as a concept. I mean why and how did he decide that Izuku would refer Bakugo as Kacchan since the start of the story? A crazy and unhinged idea tbh
As much as I would love to believe that Hori was a genius for that, it’s actually something pretty common amongst children and childhood friends and people with close relationships in general. It’s only a step up from calling someone their first name with an honorific. You’ll see it in other anime’s occasionally being said amongst childhood friends/family members. The same concept is used in the light novels between Macchan and Takkun (two childhood playmates that show up for a chapter and never really show up again) and actually, Ochaco calling Izuku “Deku-kun” isn’t much different.
I know people make jokes about the English equivalent being like someone calling another person “baby” or “pookie” or “snookums” or something, which I’ve always loved, but in reality it’s more like calling your friend Michael “Mikey” or calling your friend Thomas “Tommy” in childhood, and just continuing to call him that as you grow up instead of calling him his actual name. Mike and Sully do the same thing in Monsters inc. (this reminds me that I still need to write that post about the parallels between those two and bkdk ajdbejd)
All of that being said though, I do think it’s kind of unhinged for Hori to decide to have Deku keep the cutesy nickname for him despite their relationship being really bad. It would’ve been one thing if Deku had kind of a petty personality and called him Kacchan to tease or make fun of him kind of like Katsuki did with “Deku,” but that’s not at all the case… he still calls him Kacchan out of childlike adoration. I think that goes to show that Izuku still saw Katsuki’s strengths over his flaws as opposed to the opposite for most other characters. A lot, if not all, of his class were quick to point out how shit his personality was, but Izuku rarely said much about it.
It’s always “yeah he’s kind of a nasty guy, but he’s amazing in every way” or just “he’s amazing.” Even though Izuku was on the other end of Katsuki’s treatment, he would never really like to acknowledge his bad side that much unless he felt like it was needed. I think it’s Izuku trying to keep up the idea of how he saw Katsuki as a kid and didn’t want to ruin that for himself by hating him. He just wanted to be near him and watch him be amazing without much regard of what Katsuki would do to him as a result and I honestly can’t tell if that’s a good or bad thing. My minds leaning towards bad cuz of Izuku’s self sacrificial tendencies even in his childhood, resorting to following around the kid who hates having him around because he views him as the friendly neighborhood All Might in the making, but at the same time, I think it’s honorable how forgiving of a person Izuku is to be able to see the good in literally everything when the bad is literally punching you in the face. So basically, “Kacchan” is the hero he sees in Katsuki, making “Kacchan” the name of a hero, which is why it’s important to him that Uraraka helped him reevaluate his own nickname, making “Deku” the name of a hero instead of the useless kid Katsuki trying to view him as. And I think Katsuki had a hard time accepting that, because he’s always seen Deku as a hero and just never wanted to admit it to himself because he also saw him as weak.
Izuku’s a better man than me, cuz if my relationship with my childhood friend turned into that, my new nickname for them would probably be “fucking bitch” for the rest of my life, even if we started to get along again.
But that’s why I think it’s also so important and honestly a lot more meaningful for Katsuki to start calling him “Izuku” again and only calling him Deku when it’s in a heroic context, because it signifies things going back “to normal” between them when it hasn’t been normal since they were literally four years old. “Izuku” is Katsuki accepting him and accepting the fact that he genuinely cares about him. He’s not just some “Deku” anymore and he didn’t feel like it was justifiable to keep pretending like he ever was.
I retract my first statement. You’re right Anon - Hori is definitely a genius for that. He somehow made the way they refer to each other an arc of its own and gave so much meaning to something that a lot of people wouldn’t really care about. And it’s kind of beautiful tbh.

I think one huge problem (out of many) that MHA has is that Hori tries to have his cake and eat it too when it comes to the ethics of many of UA's decisions.
They face criticism for holding the Sports Festival so soon after the USJ Attack... but it's brushed off and everyone is gung-ho about the festival.
They face even more criticism for how disastrous the Forest Camp Training was and trying to turn UA into a boarding school in the aftermath... but all of the parents (except Inko) are a-okay with placing their kids in the care of a school that just underwent a PR crisis due to their inability to protect their students.
I've seen many fans defend UA and MHA by saying it's stupid to criticize UA for using child soldiers... but Hori himself writes that criticism into the narration. Hell, Aizawa is largely the hypocritical see you next tuesday man he is today because of a student dying during Work Studies. A lot of the UA faculty didn't even WANT to start Work Studies for the first years BECAUSE of how dangerous they could be... but then that gets ignored.
Hi @nutzgunray-lvt 👋
Agreed! One of Mha's problems is the confusing ethics and logic that is sometimes behind aspects of MHA, specifically UA.
I have talked about the outright horrible and even corrupt actions of UA in some of my previous posts here
However, you also bring up a lot of good points. Horikoshi does a lot of tell and don't show.
For example, UA has a big PR crisis after the training camp disaster yet all the parents allow their kids to return to school which is so weird because it genuinely got me thinking if these parents care for their kids.
Like, do these parents know what their kids went through from the usj arc to the war arc. Why did they just watch their kids go to war and not say or do anything to prevent their kids from doing that? Why did no one try to sue UA for what they let happen in the MVA arc? Does everyone's parents in this series suck?!?!
Actually, the media never criticised UA for hosting the Sports festival so soon, and the only reason UA chose to continue with the sports festival was to try and keep up the image that all was well which backfired on them so well and even nedzu comes to acknowledge this fact.
The whole thing of huge work study students being sent and that being approved by UA seemed so weird because a good chunk of those teachers that approved that had experienced their first loss and harsh reality of hero work during their work study so it made no sense for them to willingly accept the hpsc words on a whim without at least arguing back that these kids are too young for a work study.
Heck even the students previous work study aka the overhaul arc was incredibly dangerous and actually in the anime it there is evidence that ot traumatised the kids who took part as they described the fact that they couldn't sleep and stayed up all night some being haunted by sir nighteye's dying body whereas some worrying about their friends and etc. Someone could of and probably should of sued UA for allowing the children to take part. Where were Mirio's parents in all of this? You're son lost his quirk and ended up in the hospital yet you haven't sued?
#mha#mha critical#bnha#bnha critical#horikoshi critical#thanks for the ask#thanks for the ask!#bhna critical#ua critical#ua sucks#show and tell#but all I am seeing is tell dont show

Sunset promises
Fandom: Blue lock
Characters: Kunigami x reader
------------‐---------------------------------------
The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting long shadows and bathing the park in hues of orange and gold. It was quiet except for the occasional rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze. Kunigami Rensuke walked beside you, his towering frame a reassuring presence. His hands were shoved deep into the pockets of his hoodie, his stride steady but tense.
You couldn’t help but notice how distracted he seemed today. Normally, Kunigami was calm and composed, the kind of guy whose presence could ground you in an instant. But now, his auburn eyes were distant, and his jaw was clenched just a little too tight.
“Kunigami,” you said, breaking the comfortable silence. “You’ve been unusually quiet. Is something on your mind?”
His gaze flicked to you briefly, and he chuckled under his breath. “You can tell, huh?”
“Of course I can tell,” you replied, nudging his arm playfully. “What’s up?”
He slowed his pace, letting out a deep sigh before stopping entirely. You turned to face him, a mix of curiosity and concern swirling in your chest.
“It’s… nothing bad,” he said after a moment, his voice steady but quieter than usual. He looked past you, toward the horizon where the sun was beginning to set. “Just… been thinking about some things.”
You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms. “Like what? You know you can talk to me about anything, right?”
Kunigami’s lips twitched into a small smile. “Yeah, I know.” He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, suddenly looking a little self-conscious. “Let’s keep walking.”
You followed him toward the park’s lookout point, where a wooden railing overlooked the city below. The view was breathtaking—buildings bathed in golden light, the streets alive with the hum of people going about their evening. But your focus was entirely on Kunigami, who leaned against the railing, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
“It’s beautiful,” you said softly, leaning beside him.
“Yeah,” he murmured. His voice was distant again, like he was lost in his thoughts.
You placed a hand on his arm, grounding him. “Rensuke. What’s going on?”
He turned to you fully, his auburn eyes locking onto yours. The intensity of his gaze took you by surprise, and for a moment, it felt like the rest of the world had faded away.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about the future,” he began, his voice steady but tinged with vulnerability. “About what I want. Who I want to be. And… who I want to be with.”
Your breath caught in your throat, and your heart started pounding in your chest.
“You’ve always been there for me,” he continued, his tone softening. “Even when things got tough, when I doubted myself, when I felt like I wasn’t enough… you never gave up on me. You believed in me when I couldn’t even believe in myself.”
“Rensuke…” you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion.
He reached out, his warm hand enveloping yours. “I don’t say it enough, but you mean everything to me. And I don’t want to keep taking that for granted. I want you to know how much you matter. How much I care about you.”
Tears welled in your eyes, and you blinked them back, a soft smile breaking across your face. “You’re everything to me too, Rensuke. I hope you know that.”
His cheeks flushed slightly, and he let out a nervous laugh. “You have no idea how long I’ve been trying to find the right words to tell you this. I’m not great with words, but…” He stepped closer, his free hand gently brushing a strand of hair from your face. “I love you. And I want you by my side. Not just now, but… always.”
The sincerity in his voice made your heart ache in the best way. You wrapped your arms around him, burying your face in his chest as his strong arms encircled you.
“I love you too,” you murmured, your voice muffled against him. “More than anything.”
Kunigami rested his chin atop your head, holding you like you were the most precious thing in the world. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky fading into shades of pink and purple, you felt an overwhelming sense of peace.
“I promise,” he said softly, his voice a low rumble in your ear. “I’ll do everything I can to make you happy. To give you the life you deserve.”
“You already make me happy, Rensuke,” you replied, pulling back just enough to look up at him. “You always have.”
He smiled—a genuine, heart-melting smile that made you feel like the luckiest person alive. As the first stars began to twinkle in the sky, Kunigami leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead.
In that moment, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the evening and the warmth of his embrace, you knew without a doubt that this was where you were meant to be—by his side, now and always.

so what are your thoughts about what happened to og!afo? while og!afo was able to stop pretending right before his death, i feel like it was just... not enough? do you think his character arc is not over yet and will continue with vestige!afo? because i can't stop thinking about 368 where shigaraki's face changed to afo's pre!potato face upong seeing yoichi and how in 369 afo kept saying "not yet, not yet!" and talking as if he still has some kind of a last card up his sleeve. and that trump card was mentioned again in this chapter.
If this were the actual conclusion to AFO's arc, I wouldn't feel satisfied! But like you said, Hori has already gone out of his way to include the "trump card" line and left the actual fate of AFO's vestige deliberately ambiguous (ex: using words like "suppressed/defeated" instead of "killed" to describe vestige-for-one). Like, there's a lot that points to his arc not being finished yet, imho.
That said, I do believe AFO's "trump card" is gonna be something particularly heinous, and may involve him tipping his hand/finally revealing his involvement in the Shimura Family massacre. Like, something we have to keep in mind is that Tomura sincerely believes that he killed his family intentionally and that he """enjoyed""" killing them + enjoyed destroying his home— it’s what he considers to be his origin, and "remembering that origin" is what allowed him to take back control of his body. So in theory, all AFO has to do in order to shatter Tomura's sense of self is cast doubt on that "origin" (which in turn may create a necessity for Tomura to finally remember his *actual* origin in order to take back control of his body again).
Like, I gotta stress: AFO's villain mask/demon lord persona finally slipping off to reveal the pitiful and desperately lonely human underneath does not equal him suddenly becoming a good person, so I'm 100% expecting vestige-for-one to try and pull some truly awful bullshit at the absolute worst possible time lmfao.
----
Anyhoo, a couple more points to consider:
I know I'm beating a dead horse at this point, but once again: names are everything in mha and Hori 100% wants his readers to pay attention to what names are being used/emphasized during key scenes-- especially when it comes to names being used to separate fantasy from reality, authentic from inauthentic, and the "actor" from the "character/role."
Chapter 393 begins with the LOV discussing the meaning behind hero and villain names and encouraging Toga to pick a villain name for herself (with Toga ultimately deciding to use "Toga Himiko" written in katakana as her villain name because she ultimately just wants to be seen as herself)-- chapter 393 then ends with Ochako referring to Toga as "Himiko-chan," in a stealth rejection of Toga's stealth villain name. Bakugo resurrects and starts proudly referring to himself as "Kacchan" instead of “Great Explosion Murder God" + starts calling Izuku by his given name in total earnest. Meanwhile, Tomura stops referring to Izuku by his given name and starts referring to him as the much colder and distant "hero." Etc etc.
With this in mind, AFO still not having a name reveal-- not even during his own damn flashback/origin chapter-- is something that sticks out like a sore thumb.
This chapter was (appropriately titled) our farewell to "All For One: The Demon Lord/The Villain King/The Shameless LARPer" It's not necessarily our farewell to "*insert name here*: The Cataclysmic Mess Of A Person" yet. Yoichi and Tomura are the only ones who can properly say farewell to that side of AFO, because despite everything, they're the only ones who have some semblance of pity/"affection" for AFO as an actual human person (not as a god, or an object of worship, or a villain king, or a "role").
Death and Rebirth continues to be one of the big (and criminally underrated) themes of the series-- MHA frequently plays with the idea that part of a character's identity/alter-ego can "die" while their body lives on (or conversely, that a person's will can take on a life of its own and live on even if their body dies. which. y'know.)
All Might """dies,""" but Yagi Toshinori lives. Touya """dies""" and Dabi is born. Tenko """dies""" and is "reborn" as Shigaraki Tomura. Endeavor """dies""" during the PLW, leaving the world's ugliest crier Todoroki Enji behind. The representation of Keigo's hero identity (the fierce wings vestige) """dies""". Bakugo switches it up by dying for real, but upon resurrection, sheds his conceit and discards the "mask" he used to conceal his insecurities. Etc etc.
AFO himself has always been born (and reborn) from death. He takes his very first breaths while next to the corpse of his mother and half-dead brother. He died once, but was brought back to life by someone that society rejected and AFO ""accepted"". He has now died a second time, triggering a subtle change in Tomura that has made him even more dangerous (i.e. Tomura has started using the AFO quirk again, and more specifically, is now using the AFO quirk to whittle away at the collective "will" of OFA by stealing the vestiges one by one. This Action Will Have Consequences.jpg)
Killing AFO does not actually solve the root problems of this story, nor does it fix the longstanding problems of heroaca society (which all precede the advent of quirks and the creation of the hero/villain system)-- or rather, it might be better to say that AFO will never *truly* die as long as the world remains fundamentally unchanged. AFO is enabled by the status quo! He is allowed to keep existing and able to continuously resurrect himself over and over and over again as the ultimate villain specifically because of it.
My theory right now is that AFO will only die permanently when A) He is finally acknowledged as a human individual and given a name, and B) when Izuku finally takes Tomura's hand + Tomura is "finally taken out of the garden and back into the house," symbolizing the radical shift in the status quo that empowered (read: created) AFO in the first place.
Also worth mentioning: body!AFO and vestige!AFO are heavily implied to have some sort of "shared" awareness with each other-- we even see body!AFO flashing back to the UA cage match during his mental breakdown. This means there's a chance what body!AFO was feeling at the moment of his death might spill over to vestige!AFO, allowing for his arc to continue seamlessly from where it apparently "left off" during this chapter.
Which is good! Because this chapter has AFO finally admitting that "nothing is good" without Yoichi while also indirectly confirming that yes, the various traumas from his childhood DID in fact play a major role in his development into a villain-- AFO and Yoichi growing up in a society that ignored them is basically what fuels AFO's ridiculously self-detrimental attention seeking behaviors (like the AFOmight fight becomes retroactively hilarious when u realize AFO was trying to get as much attention out of mangling Toshi as possible and that his obsessive need to kill Toshi in front of an audience is what ultimately led to his downfall 💀It's, uh, marginally less hilarious when u also realize that he impulsively killed Yoichi bc Yochi had stopped looking at him. 😬)
Anyway....!! AFO and Yoichi are both the "source" and the representation of the main conflict in this series-- og!AFO fizzling out without any fanfare is admittedly an appropriate narrative punishment for someone who wanted to be the eternal star of the show, but it doesn't offer a proper resolution to the actual conflict of the series: the cycle of irrational fear and insecurity leading to a lack of understanding, lack of understanding leading to rejection, rejection leading to the creation of villains, villains creating more fear in civilians and leading to the necessity of heroes, which inevitably leads to even more rejection, and so on and so forth, etc etc etc. Yoichi and AFO exist at the center of this cycle, representing it in its purest form-- and Tomura is the ultimate consequence of this cycle.
Ultimately, I feel like vestige for one’s death may be….. gentler, for lack of a better word. Less focused on karmic punishment and more focused on giving Yoichi and Tomura a sense of closure. Like, it's honestly not about what AFO "deserves," but what Yoichi needs in order to finally pass on and what Tomura needs to finally detangle himself from AFO (although in the spirit of keeping it completely real, all three of them need to detangle themselves from each other lmfao💀💀💀). Neither Yoichi or Tomura have ever been granted a chance to truly grieve the loss of themselves or their families, and AFO is at the root of that as someone who is both "family" and as someone who also took everything away from them.
tl;dr Hori can eat his cake (punish AFO for his hubris by having him fight, lose, and die against versions of himself that *chose* to be better or regret how they treated their own "Yoichis"-- i.e. Toshinori, Endeavor, Bkgo) and have it too (finally resolve the ShigaBros century long conflict and the complicated feelings AFO-Yoichi-Tomura all have for each other, giving everyone the closure they desperately need) thanks to the presence of the vestige world.
I also think it'd be cool to get some sort of resolution re: the captain hero comics, since they were the "trigger" that started it all-- perhaps in the form of a dying dream sequence, where we get Yoichi and AFO as children again-- but this time Yoichi basically forces AFO to sit his ass down and finally read volume 4 of captain hero lmfao.
Like, a lot of AFO's actions/beliefs stem from his insistence that he ~already knew~ how the story was gonna end, and he built his life and plans around "rejecting" that ending-- I feel like a scenario where it turns out the ending WASN'T what he expected (like, say it was an ending where Captain Hero does defeat the Demon Lord, but ultimately chooses to save him rather than kill him-- something that mirrors Tomura's ultimate fate, rather than AFO's) would be a neat way to wrap up his and Yoichi's arcs from a metafiction perspective, since he and Yoichi both represent "different types of readers."
It would also be bittersweet, with the implication that things could have been different if AFO had just stopped being reddit pilled for five seconds and just read to the end with Yoichi in the first place-- the blueprint for an ending where the hero is no longer all alone and where the "demon lord" doesn't have to die/vanish at the end of the story was there all along, he just refused to see it.
tl;dr 2.0: AFO's ultimate punishment should involve him getting slapped in the face by tiny yoichi with his little comics over and over and over again until he develops an actual sense of media literacy.

Inspiration
Hori x Kashima
[Fic Reupload] - Among the fics that died without me even noticing, this HoriKashi oldie from 2017. A little late to say this, but it did have a special place in my heart...
Summary: Sakura gets dragged along by Nozaki to watch Kashima and Hori while they practice at their drama club. Things turn out a bit tickly over there which is kinda awkward when you’re in the audience, watching and hearing every single thing… for inspiration! (Also on AO3)
Word Count: 1K
“And why exactly are we here again?”
“I told you. Inspiration.”
Sakura had kinda hoped Nozaki had different plans for them for the day, but alas, today it seemed like a good day for Nozaki to gain inspiration by watching Hori-senpai and Kashima-kun’s drama practice. Of all things!
No offense though, she absolutely loved them and especially watching their bond develop was definitely entertaining. But… Was Nozaki ever going to take her out on a bit more… romantic activity? Probably not.
“Hayaaaa-hah! Surrender, mister!” Kashima said in a low, heroic voice, but Hori swung his fake sword at her and roared.
“Nevah!” The clinging of swords continued. For a moment it looked as if Hori was winning this ‘battle’, whatever play even was this? But then Kashima hit Hori in the ribs with her sword and she cried triumphantly.
“HAh! You’re dead!” She poked him with the sword again and Hori howled and fell back.
“Am not!” he barked, but Kashima poked him repeatedly with the sword now and stepped on top of him with one foot.
“Dead dead dead!” she yelled, and Sakura snickered. Those two were just hilarious and…
“HEhe! Don’t touch my tummy, that tickles!” Apparently the sword-poking had taken a whole different route now and Sakura watched how Hori curled up and Kashima looked at him with wonder.
“Hori-senpai is ticklish huh,” Sakura said with a happy smile, and she noticed Nozaki looked intrigued as well.
“Does it hm!?” Kashima reacted like anyone probably would have. She dropped the sword and tackled him, straddling his legs and attacking him with quick pokes and prods.
“Senpai has a ticklish tummy! Awww isn’t that cute!”
Sakura nodded but wasn’t sure if Kashima even realized they were here, watching them. Nozaki hummed in approval when Hori screeched; Kashima was now wiggling her fingers all over Hori’s stomach under his shirt and the latter cried out hysterical bits of laughter.
“Why are you filming!?” Sakura barked when Nozaki aimed his phone at the pair. A smile covered his face and he just looked so… entertained.
“Stop! Stahahahp noooo!” Hori barked when Kashima wrestled him down with her larger body and proceeded to tickle other areas than his tummy. Hori seemed like a person who was ticklish everywhere… Sakura got a shiver there for a moment. So relatable.
“I s-swehehear! Get oahahaff!” Hori’s laughter was hilarious alright.
“I’ll stop if you surrender! Give up!” Kashima roared, tickling the living daylights out of her partner. Hori seriously laughed like a girl. He was also flailing around on the stage, and it was just one hilarious sight since they were wearing costumes as well and Kashima was still sticking to her role.
“I CAhahant!” Hori squealed, shaking his head firmly, but Kashima wasn’t stopping.
“Don’t be foolish! Give up!” Kashima said louder as to beat the volume of Hori’s hysterical laughter.
“I’m ahahalready dehehead! Stop it youhou – !” Sakura smiled but was getting worried for Hori’s life there. Nozaki had stopped making notes and was only watching and filming now with that adorable smile on his face. Was this really giving him inspiration or…?
“Meh-mehehercy! Please mercy you stupid witch!” Hori was sounding so frustrated now hehe, but Kashima wasn’t letting up. All Sakura could see now was one poor heap on the floor that was Hori, and Kashima bending over him as she wiggled her butt in their direction.
She continued to tickle Hori and even a few “PFFFFTTT”-sounds were heard, and Sakura got another shiver. Raspberries. Things were turning a little bit more awkward now.
“K-Kashima-kun’s quite merciless huh,” Sakura said, trying to pierce through the awkward silence between Nozaki and her.
“Yeah,” Nozaki said with that undying smile. Ugh. Sakura shivered again when Hori’s laughter got a higher pitch since Kashima was probably getting to an even worse spot now.
“NOohohoho hehehelp meeee!” Hori screamed, but Sakura was stuck to her bench and Nozaki looked like he had no intention of helping at all.
As if Kashima only realized now that they were here, she suddenly looked up and waved at them while she continued to tickle Hori with one hand.
“Hellooo!” she greeted. Bad choice since this left her unguarded and Hori managed to get her down with one violent kick.
“Kashima-kun!” Sakura squeaked, but Hori dragged her out from the stage and wheezed.
“You’ll pay for this. You’ll fly from the roof, drown in toilets, and –!” He dragged her out of the hall and their hysterical voices vanished in the distance. Sakura’s lips twitched. She’d always known these two were so extreme.
“Kinky,” Nozaki said, and Sakura jolted.
“Flying from roofs and drowning in toilets isn’t kinky!” she barked, still half dead inside just from hearing that word coming from his mouth, but Nozaki chuckled and put his phone away.
“You know he won’t do that,” Nozaki said, and Sakura sighed. Of course she knew that, but she was just a little bit worked up by this… atmosphere.
“So… did you get inspiration?” she asked, Nozaki stared at the empty stage and nodded.
“I did,” he said with a thoughtful expression. He then looked at her, and Sakura’s heart stopped. Crap.
“No!” She made it for a jump but didn’t come far. Nozaki pulled her back and pinned her on top of his lap.
“Nononono Nozahahaki-kuuhuuuun!” she screeched as Nozaki attacked her sides and tummy with tickles. She flailed on top of his lap like a baby and laughed until her lungs were burning.
Probably somewhere in this school Kashima was suffering from some similar vengeance coming from Hori, unless she managed to overpower him again. who knew.
“Surrender, surrender!” Nozaki copied Kashima as he tickled her like crazy, and Sakura really lost it there.
“Thahahat doesn’t even make sehehense!” she cackled, and she was in serious trouble when he scribbled her stomach with all ten fingers, making her lose her mind. For a moment her flailing and kicking caused her to wriggle free from his grip, for like only a brief couple of seconds before Nozaki pulled her back and doomed her even more.
“Lehehet me gooo! Go wrihihite your mangahaha!” Sakura laughed as she was held up against him by her arm and tickled under said arm until her body spasmed unhealthily.
“Nah. I like this better.” Nozaki smirked and pinned her arm even higher above her head to properly access the weak hollow of her armpit.
“Ehehehe nooooo!” This was honestly so unfaaair. She was never going with Nozaki on his inspiration-tours ever, EVER, again!

So in regards the leaks and how the general fandom is acting towards Shig and Izu seeing each other memories.
Like, let's dissect here. One thing is bothering me in lieu how the MHA treats redemption arcs is how the victims have no saying in the redemption of the villain(and BK let's not forget what he really is) the fandom wants to babiefied the villains without facing the real consequences.
Won't talk about PoS here. Let's talk about Shiggy.
Fandom says he is groomed by afo and so...he needs to be saved. I talked to @doodlegirl1998 about this. She proposed the idea of afo suggesting things to Shig which...yeah makes sense.
Brainwash trope: it's a trope where a character acts differently from the norm thanks to external reasons. For the trope to work we need to see how the character is before the brainwash.
What we know about Shig before being Shig.
*He is Tenko.
* He has a fluffy corgi
* His family died .
Shig fandom insists Tenko was this paragon of goodness. We are told that btw never showed. "Tenko helped those two faceless and shapeless kids. He is an angel" and the fandom nods.
What we really see of Tenko is how he was abused bc Hori really couldn't make his backstory a clichê. The SHIMURAS are dead and......no one really care. What they bring to the story?
We don't know how Tenko was, really
Then afo took him in.
He didn't groomed Shig. A groomer (if we go by a non sexual way) would be all the steps of the person's life to mold....afo didn't do that. He see him give a really cruel name to Shig, see the Dr give the hands (I so think they laugh at this) and leave him alone with Kuro.
Not grooming.
But afo could have suggested Shig to use his quirk without care.
Which comes to my point .....Shig chose to continue on this path. Shig chose to attack us, to kill those heroes. It's was on him. Afo doesn't have a hold on him...Shig did himself.
And my point is, Shig can't ever get a redemption action if we don't account the victims.
How the victims and their families would feel about a Shig wanting to redeem himself?
Ok imagine that. Everyone forgive Shig...maybe they all see Baby Tenko and are. Heartbroken by his cuteness ...they forgive him as easily as some Shig simps wanted .....what this means to Shig then?
What he would do with this forgiveness? Would he try to change? Would he care? What the story would be if everyone forgive Baby Tenko?
Also.....
I'm profoundly annoyed how Izu has to see the SHIMURAS being murder, how the fans will see this as "oh no. Poor Shig" (don't get me wrong ...it is horrifying as it is....silly. the entire family is dead. It's lazy) and no one will give a shit about Izu's past, just to not break a pattern. We will see the horrific scene of SHIMURAS being killed...a scene Izu will see as well....and doubt we are going to see Izu's past....and if we do see....
Fandom:😒why we are wasting time on this
Or
Fandom:😁proof Izu will save Shig. Go save Shig.
#sometimes I hate MHA#izuku deserves better#hori is a bad writer#a really bad one#incompetent and unprofessional#mha critical#anti bakugou#shiggy is a plot device#and a dumber one#bnha critical
